[10] Shahada (Witness) - Husayn, Heir of Adam and Peace Upon You, O Aba Abdillah

Wednesday, 24 June 2026

This is the day of days—the absolute climax of our Muharram series. On the day of Ashura, all streams of prophetic history intersect on a dusty plain in Iraq. Shaykh Shabbir Hassanally presents "Husayn, Heir of Adam," positioning Imam Husayn (peace and blessings be upon him) not merely as a tragic historical figure, but as the cosmic Criterion (Furqan) against which every empire, every system of power, and every individual human soul is weighed until the end of time. The final Maqtal, "Peace Upon You, O Aba Abdillah," brings us to the devastating noon of the tenth day, documenting the ultimate witness and final moments of Imam Husayn. This is followed by unbridled congregational mourning (Azadari) with the Nohe "Fount of Karbala" and the sacred recitation of Ziyarat Ashura on its primary intended day. Ashura is not an ending; it is the beginning of a road. Stay with us as we prepare to trace the journey of the caravan of captives in our upcoming Arbaeen series.

Through us you got guidance in the darkness and secured high position, and through us you got out of the gloomy night. The ears which do not listen to the cries may become deaf. How can one who remained deaf to the loud cries (of the Qur’ān and the Prophet) listen to (my) feeble voice. The heart that has ever palpitated (with fear of Allāh) may get peace.

Nahjul Balagha, Sermon 4, Section 2
