Imam Hussain’s Unwavering Submission at Karbala
No mortal can fully comprehend the divine personality of Imam Hussain (AS), who displayed absolute submission to the Lord amidst the horrors of Karbala. Having lost his comrades and infant son, and bearing severe wounds from arrows, the Imam remained mindful of his Creator.
Despite indescribable agony, thirst, and grief, he never neglected his prescribed prayers, demonstrating that spiritual devotion transcends physical suffering.
As the Quran states in Surah Al-Fajr: “O soul that is at rest satisfied. Return to your Lord well-pleased (with Him), well-pleasing (Him).
” Imam Hussain (AS) sheathed his sword to prepare for Asr prayers, even when he could no longer dismount his horse, ‘Zul Jinah’, by his own strength. He gently asked the faithful, wounded horse to kneel, allowing him to slide down onto the burning desert sand.
Lying with his bleeding wounds on the scorching earth, the Holy Imam rested his forehead on a heap of sand to offer his final prayer on earth.

السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَيُّهَا الصِّدِّيقُونَ السَّلامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَيُّهَا الشُّهَدَاءُ الصَّابِرُونَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكُمْ جَاهَدْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَ صَبَرْتُمْ عَلَى الْأَذَى فِي جَنْبِ اللَّهِ وَ نَصَحْتُمْ لِلَّهِ وَ لِرَسُولِهِ حَتَّى أَتَاكُمُ الْيَقِينُ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكُمْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْزَقُونَ فَجَزَاكُمُ اللَّهُ عَنِ الْإِسْلامِ وَ أَهْلِهِ أَفْضَلَ جَزَاءِ الْمُحْسِنِينَ وَ جَمَعَ بَيْنَنَا وَ بَيْنَكُمْ فِي مَحَلِّ النَّعِيمِ.
Peace be upon you, O truthful ones. Peace be upon you, O patient martyrs. I bear witness that you strove in the way of Allah, bore patiently the harm that befell you for the sake of Allah, and were sincere counselors to Allah and His Messenger, until death came upon you. I bear witness that you are alive in the presence of your Lord and are provided for. May Allah reward you on behalf of Islam and its people with the best reward of the righteous, and gather us together with you in the abode of bliss and bounty.
