# The Dawn Over the Sacred Cities

The silence in the Samarkand home was heavier than the winter snow pressing against the windows. Farid sat with his head in his hands, the glow of the news screen illuminating his pale, trembling face. Beside him, Zahra’s emerald-green hijab seemed to darken as she clutched her prayer beads, her knuckles white with tension. The reports were unconfirmed whispers at first, then horrifying clarity: an attack on the Arbaeen procession, the sacred path between Najaf and Karbala. Their closest friends, their brother’s family, were walking those roads.

The confirmation came not with a shout, but with a quiet, devastating finality. Casualties. Blood on the dust of the Holy Land. Farid let out a broken sigh, the weight of helplessness crushing his chest. They could not fly there. They could not stop the missiles. They could only do what the Imams (AS) taught them to do in the face of overwhelming injustice: submit to God’s will and ask for His strength.

They gathered their neighbours, elders and young alike, in the living room. No words were needed. One by one, they stood. The air thickened with the scent of rosewater and the collective breath of supplication. They raised their hands, not in anger, but in humility, asking God to avenge the blood of the martyrs and protect the innocent.

As the final tears were wiped away, the news anchor’s voice changed tone. Confusion turned to disbelief, then to awe. The regimes responsible—the corrupt alliances that had orchestrated the violence—were collapsing. Not by external force, but from within. The weight of their own corruption, their lies, their betrayal of the people, had become too heavy to bear.

Farid looked up, his eyes wide. Zahra turned from the window. Outside, the twilight sky seemed to shift, the grey clouds parting to reveal a golden hue that had not been there a moment before. It was not just light; it was hope. A new day was dawning over Palestine and Arabia, lands no longer defined by the names of tribal kings, but by their true, sacred identities.

And in that golden light, a whisper stirred in their hearts, a promise kept: the Master of the Age was rising.

## Scripture

> وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌۖ أُجِيبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِۖ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلۡيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِي لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡشُدُونَ
>
> And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided
