True Blessing: Family, Wilāya, and the Legacy of Fatimah

In Twelver Shia thought, family is a profound divine gift, yet it becomes a true blessing (niʿma) only when imbued with the essence of divine guardianship (wilāya). As Al-Mizan explains, spouses and children lead to felicity only when they bring us closer to God; without this spiritual orientation, they risk becoming sources of misery rather than prosperity.

Lady Fatimah al-Zahra (AS) embodies this ideal. The Prophet (PBUH & His Family) named her Fatimah because God protected her from the Fire, a station that extends to those who love her.

As the mother of the rightly-guided Imams, her legacy reminds us that true honour lies in spiritual purity and devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt.

Let us seek refuge through her in our daily prayers, ensuring our familial bonds are rooted in faith. By aligning our homes with the principles of wilāya, we transform our lives into a path of lasting felicity and divine closeness.
