# The Battle Within: How Thought Commands the Armies of Good and Evil

The divine spark is blended with the physical to form man's earthly existence. Within this body, the armies of good and evil are stationed, with visible potentialities functioning as warring forces across seven quarters: ears, eyes, tongue, stomach, private parts, arms and legs. These faculties, under the control of the self, operate in seven spheres of life. The seat of imagination is also vital, as thought and imagination are sovereign over all visible and invisible human faculties.

If the faculty of thought resolves to employ all other faculties in fiendish directions, they are converted into satanic forces, turning the whole territory of existence into a satanic domain. The forces of piety, rationality and good are weakened and subjugated, vacating the empire for Satan's possession.

> اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ مَا يُلْقِي الشَّيْطَانُ فِي رُوعِي مِنَ التَّمَنِّي وَالتَّظَنِّي وَالْحَسَدِ ذِكْراً لِعَظَمَتِكَ، وَتَفَكُّراً فِي قُدْرَتِكَ، وَتَدْبِيراً عَلَى عَدُوِّكَ، وَمَا أَجْرَى عَلَى لِسَانِي مِنْ لَفْظَةِ فُحْشٍ أَوْ هُجْرٍ أَوْ شَتْمِ عِرْضٍ أَوْ شَهَادَةِ بَاطِلٍ أَوِ اغْتِيَابِ مُؤْمِنٍ غَائِبٍ أَوْ سَبِّ حَاضِرٍ وَمَا أَشْبَهَ ذَلِكَ نُطْقاً بِالْحَمْدِ لَكَ، وَإِغْرَاقاً فِي الثَّنَاءِ عَلَيْكَ، وَذَهَاباً فِي تَمْجِيدِكَ، وَشُكْراً لِنِعْمَتِكَ، وَاعْتِرَافاً بِإِحْسَانِكَ، وَإِحْصَاءً لِمِنَنِكَ

> O God, make the wishing, the doubt, and the envy which Satan throws into my heart a remembrance of Your mightiness, a reflection upon Your power, and a devising against Your enemy! Make everything he causes to pass over my tongue, - the indecent or ugly words, the maligning of good repute, the false witness, the speaking ill of an absent man of faith or the reviling of one present, and all things similar - a speech in praise of You, a pursual of eulogizing You, an excursion in magnifying You, a thanksgiving for Your favour, an acknowledgement of Your beneficence, and an enumeration of Your kindnesses!
