Creating Heaven and Hell Within Ourselves

The profound reality of our spiritual existence lies in the fact that we create heaven and hell within ourselves. This internal landscape is not merely a metaphor but a reflection of our choices, intentions, and actions.

As the Quran reminds us, "We did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them for play" (Quran 21:16), indicating that our lives carry immense weight and purpose. Every thought and deed contributes to the construction of our inner world, shaping either a realm of peace and divine proximity or one of turmoil and separation from Allah.

Our hearts are the battleground where this creation takes place. When we nurture faith, patience, and gratitude, we build a heaven within, aligning ourselves with the will of the Creator.

Conversely, when we succumb to arrogance, envy, and heedlessness, we construct a hell within, distancing ourselves from the mercy of the Almighty.

Indeed, Allah is Knower of the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and earth. Indeed, He is Knowing of that within the breasts

Quran, Surah Fatir (Originator), Chapter 35, Verse 38
