# Be Lovers – Life Is With Love

Brothers and sisters, be lovers. Life is with love. It is love that kindles the fire and flame of life inside man.

A Muslim is a lover — a lover of God, a lover of the truth, a lover of justice, a lover of becoming a true human being, a lover of the spiritual realm.

And the world for him, with all of its adornments and charms, is only a field for being spiritually built up and crossing over towards that eternal God and beloved one.

## Scripture

> إِلَهِي قَصُرَتِ الْأَلْسُنُ عَنْ بُلُوغِ ثَنَائِكَ كَمَا يَلِيقُ بِجَلالِكَ وَ عَجَزَتِ الْعُقُولُ عَنْ إِدْرَاكِ كُنْهِ جَمَالِكَ وَ انْحَسَرَتِ الْأَبْصَارُ دُونَ النَّظَرِ إِلَى سُبُحَاتِ وَجْهِكَ وَ لَمْ تَجْعَلْ لِلْخَلْقِ طَرِيقا إِلَى مَعْرِفَتِكَ إِلا بِالْعَجْزِ عَنْ مَعْرِفَتِكَ إِلَهِي فَاجْعَلْنَا مِنَ الَّذِينَ تَرَسَّخَتْ [تَوَشَّجَتْ ] أَشْجَارُ الشَّوْقِ إِلَيْكَ فِي حَدَائِقِ صُدُورِهِمْ وَ أَخَذَتْ لَوْعَةُ مَحَبَّتِكَ بِمَجَامِعِ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ إِلَى أَوْكَارِ الْأَفْكَارِ يَأْوُونَ وَ فِي رِيَاضِ الْقُرْبِ وَ الْمُكَاشَفَةِ يَرْتَعُونَ وَ مِنْ حِيَاضِ الْمَحَبَّةِ بِكَأْسِ الْمُلاطَفَةِ يَكْرَعُونَ،

> O Allah, tongues fall short of praising Thee as befits Thy grandeur, and intellects are incapable of perceiving the depths of Thy beauty, and eyes are helpless to behold the magnificence of Thy essence. Thou hast appointed no path for creation toward knowing Thee save through their inability to know Thee. O Allah, place us among those in whose hearts the branches of longing for Thee have taken firm root in the gardens of their breasts, and the burning fire of Thy love has been kindled in the depths of their hearts, so that they dwell in the nests of devoted contemplation, and wander in the garden of Thy nearness and unveiling, and drink from the pools of Thy love with the cup of Thy gentle kindness.
