# The Requirements of Clarification — Part 3

*Session 6 of [Tabyeen (Clarification) - Ashura 1447 (2025) Series](https://www.truthpromoters.com/events/tabyeen-clarification-ashura-1447-2025-series) — 1 July 2025*

A famous saying of Imam Ali has been misused for fourteen centuries to justify silence — and it means the opposite.

"During sedition, be like a young camel — neither fit to be ridden nor to be milked," the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali, peace be upon him, once taught. Read lazily, it sounds like permission to disengage. This session insists it means the reverse: let no one exploit you, by riding your back or draining your silence — but never withdraw. When sedition broke out in his own time, one companion moved tirelessly between hesitant camps, explaining and persuading, while another who knew his virtue well still asked to be excused from the fight. Hesitation, however sincere, strengthened the hand of falsehood.

The session builds an argument that clarification needs two things operating together, not one substituting for the other: a mind sharpened against hollow arguments, and a heart softened by humility, so that clarity never curdles into harshness. It calls believers into the digital space not to react or provoke but to build — and insists that courage, not eloquence, is the rarer virtue: the fear of being labelled, of controversy, of losing standing, is named directly as what actually silences people who already know the truth.

Is refusing to take a side during confusion ever really neutral — or is it its own kind of choice?

What the evening covers

The camel narration, correctly read. Why a saying used to justify silence during sedition was never a call to withdraw.
Mind and heart together. Why intellectual strength without humility repels rather than persuades.
Courage as the rarer virtue. The fear of being labelled, named as what actually keeps people silent.
The online space as battlefield. Building understanding and resilience rather than reacting to provoke.

## Scripture

>
> O God, make my desire in my asking like the desire of Your friends in their asking, and my fear like the fear of Your friends! Employ me in Your good pleasure through works in which I will not leave aside anything of Your religion fearing any of Your creatures!

— *Sahifa Sajjadiyyah, Prayer 54: His Supplication for the Removal of Worries, Verse 7*
