Having purified the heart in the previous session, this evening asks what fills it. The answer is yaqin, certainty — not a blind or inherited dogma but the achievement the Qur'an assigns to the God-conscious: "and of the Hereafter they are certain." Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him, gave yaqin four pillars to build on — insightful discernment, the interpretation of wisdom, admonition born of reflection, and the established way of those who came before — a "faith of investigation" replacing an unexamined "faith of inheritance", always under the guidance of a qualified scholar. The session turns from blueprint to experience. Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq called yaqin "faith in its entirety." Imam Khomeini described it as vision, the unseen becoming, in his words, "brighter than the light of the sun" at midday — the fruit of dhikr, remembrance, understood as polishing rather than counting. That polished state, one contemporary scholar explains, turns supplication itself "from a request into a conversation." Finally, the evening tests yaqin under pressure, as the axis connecting the command to steadfastness, and as the answer to the Prophet's own instruction, peace and blessings be upon him and his family: "call upon God while certain of the response", even when most aware of our own failings.
