This session tackles the hardest question in the series: if patience leads to victory, why do so many sincere people never live to see it? Its answer is a parable. A sapling that only bears fruit after ten years does not fail in year one or five — every year of care brings the harvest closer, seen or not. Judging a ten-year tree by its first season, the session argues, is exactly the mistake of calling a martyrdom or an uprising a failure because victory did not arrive that day. It applies this to Imam Zayd ibn Ali, killed by a single arrow before his uprising could succeed, arguing that his "failure" still delivered a blow later generations built on, the same way Imam Husayn, peace be upon him, is described as the beginning of the end for the regime that killed him — a line drawn to the Islamic Revolution of 1979 and beyond. Alongside this, the session works through three Qur'anic methods for enduring hardship chosen voluntarily for Truth: reflecting that death comes to everyone regardless, remembering that any wound suffered is matched by one dealt back, and studying how earlier believers carried the same weight without wavering.
