Eid al-Fitr closes Ramadhan not with festivity for its own sake but with a Qur'anic command: complete the count, glorify God for His guidance, and give thanks. Imam Ali, peace be upon him, taught that "any day in which God is not disobeyed is a day of Eid" — joy is a state of the heart, not a date. Eid al-Adha crowns a different discipline: submission, tasleem, so complete that Prophet Ibrahim could lay his son upon the ground. The Qur'an is explicit that neither meat nor blood reaches God, only the sincerity behind the sacrifice, which the tradition reads as pointing forward to Karbala, ransom answered by ransom. Beyond the two Eids sits a quieter rhythm: the White Days, Ayyam al-Baydh, the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every lunar month, when the moon is full and fasting is encouraged. The Imams taught that fasting these days trains the soul to be luminous by reflection — loyalty rehearsed when no one is watching. Finally comes a Qur'anic category rarely discussed: the Days of God, Ayyam Allah, moments when Prophet Musa was told to remind his people that divine intervention had become undeniable. These are not confined to ancient history; the tradition insists they recur, unmasking falsehood in every age.
