# Special Program for Day of Ashura – The Blood of God Was Spilled

Today is the heaviest day of the year: the tenth of Muharram, the day of Ashura. We gather not for a standard sermon, but for a solemn, liturgical observance held at the exact hour of noon—the time of Dhuhr. This is the very hour Imam Husayn (peace and blessings be upon him) stood on the burning plains of Karbala to offer his final prayer while arrows fell like rain.

## Scripture

> اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَاقْبِضْ عَلَى الصِّدْقِ نَفْسِي، وَاقْطَعْ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا حَاجَتِي، وَاجْعَلْ فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ رَغْبَتِي شَوْقاً إِلَى لِقَائِكَ، وَهَبْ لِي صِدْقَ التَّوَكُّلِ عَلَيْكَ

> O God, bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, take my soul while it is firm in sincerity, cut off my need for this world, make my desire for what is with You become a yearning to meet You, and give me true confidence in You!
