Version 2.394.5

October 19, 2026

Our records kept up to date

  • Behind the scenes, our internal records now match a change made today to one of our research tools, and an out-of-date line in them was corrected. Nothing on the site changes. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.394.4

October 19, 2026

Every page uses the full width

  • On a computer, the text of every page now runs across the full width, as the pictures and videos already did: Reflections, Vignettes, Events, Dispatches, articles, help pages and this changelog. On a phone nothing changes. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.394.3

October 19, 2026

Wider pages for each story

  • A Reflection, a Vignette, an Event and a Dispatch now use the same width as the rest of the site, so their pictures, videos and story panels are larger. The text itself stays at a comfortable reading width. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.394.2

October 19, 2026

No join button before a session is set

  • An event with no session yet no longer shows a join button. A newly announced programme offered a live link to its online room before anything was scheduled, so someone could have joined an empty room. The button now appears with the first session, and opens 15 minutes before it starts. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.394.1

October 19, 2026

Event times in your own time

  • The weekly majlis on the home page now shows its time in your own time zone, with the UK time beside it. Until now it showed UK time to everyone, so anyone abroad had to work it out.
  • Upcoming events on the home page now show the right time for you. Outside the UK, an event’s time was marked as yours when it was really the UK time.
  • The programme button now sits beside the join button, rather than below it. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.394.0

October 19, 2026

Two people in one picture

  • A Vignette picture can now show two people, each looking like themselves. When a story had a girl hug her little brother, the picture showed her hugging a copy of herself: our own instructions allowed only one person per picture, a rule written for an earlier way of drawing that no longer needed it.
  • For editors: each scene now lists the people in its picture, and you can add a second person or take one out. Anyone without portraits yet can have them made with one button, so their face stays the same from picture to picture.
  • Portraits now follow the character’s description, clothes included. Until now they were made from the name alone, so a character could wear one outfit in her portrait and another in the story.

Version 2.393.2

October 18, 2026

Page recordings stay current

  • The new line at the top of every page is no longer read into the pages’ recordings, so the existing audio of our help pages and changelog stays current rather than needing to be made again. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.393.1

October 18, 2026

namaaz.net now opens the prayer timetable

  • We retired namaaz.net earlier this month. Anyone who still goes there now arrives at our prayer timetable, with the whole month for their place, ready to print. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.393.0

October 18, 2026

In His Name, the Most High

  • Every page now begins “In His Name, the Most High”, as our IlmFlow sites do, and so does the printed prayer timetable.
  • Where a verse is quoted in English, we now write “God” where the translation says “Allah”: on reflections, vignettes, events and the prayer timetable, and in new videos. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.392.0

October 18, 2026

The Islamic months, named one way everywhere

  • The months are now spelled one way on every page (the home page, the calendar, the prayer timetable and the events): Rabi al-Thani, Jumada al-Ula, Jumada al-Thani, Sha’ban and Dhu al-Qa’dah among them. Different pages had spelled them differently. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.391.0

October 18, 2026

A verse for each month on the prayer timetable

  • The prayer timetable, on screen and printed, now opens with a verse of the Qur’an or a narration for the Islamic month, chosen with the month and its occasions in mind.
  • The words are always our sources’ own, in Arabic and English (where the translation says “Allah”, we write “God”), with the reference. Each month’s choice is made ahead of time, and our editors can choose another. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.390.0

October 18, 2026

A monthly prayer timetable you can print

  • A new page, Prayer timetable, shows the whole month’s prayer times for your place, with the Hijri date beside each day and today highlighted.
  • Change the place or the month (planning a journey, say) without changing the place the home page uses, and your own calculation settings apply, changed from the same page.
  • Print this month gives a single page for a prayer room or the fridge: our logo, both calendars, Fridays shaded, and how we calculate the times.
  • Imsaak now shows in Rajab, Sha’ban and Ramadan, as well as on Mondays and Thursdays, on the timetable and on the home page, using the community’s own calendar. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.389.0

October 18, 2026

Prayer times in the right local time, everywhere

  • For some places, our prayer times were shown in the wrong local time. We worked out a place’s time zone from a rough map, and in some places the map was wrong: in Najaf and Karbala, for example, every time was half an hour late. In a few others it was out by hours.
  • Every time now uses the place’s own time zone: the one the place search knows for a place you choose, and your device’s own when we use your location. The prayer reminders follow the same times.
  • We are sorry. If you choose a place outside the UK, please check today’s times again. Nothing else to do at your end.

Version 2.388.0

October 18, 2026

Search results you can scan at a glance

  • Each result now shows its picture, or, where it has none, the soft logo of the site it comes from.
  • Links at the top take you straight to the kind of result you want (Reflections, Events and so on), each with how many matched.
  • Sections with no matches are no longer listed one by one; a single line names them instead. And the page now has the same width and header as the rest of the site. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.387.0

October 18, 2026

Every list page, one width

  • Dispatches, the Calendar, Help, Community and Contact now use the same width as Reflections, Events, Vignettes and the news page, so moving between them no longer changes the shape of the page.
  • Dispatches are now a grid of cards, like Reflections, with each one’s picture, title, date and opening lines. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.386.0

October 18, 2026

The way back, on every reflection, vignette, event and dispatch

  • Each reflection, vignette, event, session and dispatch now shows where it sits, for example Home › Events › the programme › the session, with every step a link back.
  • It is the same trail the list pages show, and the same for everyone, however they arrived. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.385.0

October 18, 2026

Every list page starts the same way, and shows where you are

  • Reflections, Events, Vignettes, the Calendar, Dispatches, and Articles and news now share one header, as do Help, Community and Contact: a trail back to the home page, the page’s title and a line about it, all lined up with the page beneath.
  • The trail (Home › Events, for example) is a way back with one tap, and search engines can show it under our pages in their results. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.384.0

October 18, 2026

A calmer invitation at the foot of the home page

  • The green band at the bottom of the home page is rebalanced: who we are, centred, with the ways to join beneath it. The words were squeezed to one side before, with the buttons apart on the other.
  • The Telegram and WhatsApp buttons are now clearly buttons, white on the green, where they had looked almost empty. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.383.0

October 18, 2026

All the news from our sites, on one page

  • Latest on the home page now has two parts: our newest dispatch, with a link to all dispatches, and the newest stories from our publications, with a link to all their articles and news. Before, one link sat over both, and it led only to the dispatches.
  • A new page, Articles and news from our publications, shows the newest stories from each of our sites, one row per site, with as many as fit across your screen. A site with nothing new does not appear. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.382.0

October 18, 2026

No more blank spaces where a picture should be

  • When a story has no picture, or its picture will not load, its card now shows the logo of the site it comes from, softly, in place of the picture.
  • Every card in Latest is the same shape, so a story without a picture no longer sits shorter than the ones beside it. The reflection and the event at the top of the page do the same. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.381.0

October 18, 2026

Today’s event, in a smaller card

  • The event at the top of the home page now looks like the reflection: its artwork on one side, and on the other its name, the start of its description, and a button to the full programme.
  • A trailer or a session’s video opens in a window over the page when you press Watch, instead of sitting in the card.
  • The card is much shorter. A long programme note is cut to a few lines, with Read more to the event’s page, where everything is as before. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.380.0

October 18, 2026

The reflection’s video opens when you ask for it

  • The reflection on the home page now shows its picture across the whole of its side of the card, softened at the edges, with no player on the page.
  • Watch opens the video in a window over the page, and closing it stops the video. Read the reflection takes you to its own page, where the video is too.
  • A picture with words on it is shown whole, over a soft, blurred copy of itself, so no words are cut off. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.379.0

October 18, 2026

Today’s reflection, easier to read

  • The reflection on the home page has a cleaner card: its artwork or video on one side, and on the other the title, a short opening, and buttons to read it, watch it or listen to it.
  • The verse it draws on sits beneath, and the date has moved to the top of the page, where today’s prayer times already show it.
  • On a phone, the title and buttons come first and the video follows. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.378.0

October 18, 2026

A shorter, calmer home page

  • “Latest” now shows the three newest things from across Truth Promoters and our publications, newest first, each with where it is from.
  • Our publications are one row of named links, so each is a single tap away.
  • Who we are and how to join us now sit together at the end of the page.
  • Together with the last three updates, the home page is now much shorter, and what matters today is at the top. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.377.0

October 18, 2026

The weekly majlis, at a glance

  • The home page now shows the weekly majlis in one place: the next session and how long until it starts, a Join button that comes alive shortly before, “started” while it is on, and, once a session has been written up, a link to read and watch it.
  • When the next session has not been announced yet, the page says so, rather than suggesting the programme has ended.
  • Today's reflection now sits beside what is coming up, so the day's events are in view without scrolling.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.376.0

October 18, 2026

Today, first: the date and the prayer times at the top

  • The home page now opens with today. The date in both calendars, the day's occasion when there is one, and the prayer times for your area in one row, with the next prayer marked and how long until it.
  • The prayer times now appear once. They used to be shown twice, and the fuller version was a long way down the page. Your place, settings and adhaan reminders work exactly as before.
  • Search lives in the menu bar now, on every page.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.375.0

October 17, 2026

A clearer menu, and the first step of a new look

  • Our publications now have their own menu, with their names. The row of small icons along the top did not say what each one was. Choose “Publications” and each is listed with its logo and its name.
  • Search is one tap away on every page. Choose the magnifying glass at the top, type, and press Search.
  • Our name now sits beside our logo, in a new typeface chosen for reading. On a phone the top bar is slimmer too.
  • This is the first of several changes to make the home page calmer and easier to read. Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.374.3

October 17, 2026

The menu no longer squeezes on narrower screens

  • On a screen a little narrower than a laptop's, the menu along the top was cramped. The small icons squeezed together and one menu label broke onto two lines.
  • Below that width you now get the menu button instead, the same way our IlmFlow site works, and on wider screens the full menu always fits on one line.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.374.2

October 17, 2026

A note in our code that had fallen behind

  • An explanatory note in our status page's code described an older arrangement. It now says what is true. Nothing about how the page works has changed.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.374.1

October 17, 2026

Our records catch up with a machine we prepared

  • Our internal records now describe a test machine we prepared today for a tool that is still being built.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.374.0

October 17, 2026

We wait before trusting new versions of the code we build on

  • Before we release an update to this site, we now check that every outside building block it brings in has been public for at least three days. Most tampered versions of shared code are found and withdrawn within hours, so waiting a little lowers the chance of passing one on to you.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.373.1

October 17, 2026

Our own notes caught up with a change we made

  • Yesterday's change to how our automatic tests run is now written down correctly in our internal records, which still described the old arrangement.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.373.0

October 17, 2026

Somewhere for files to wait while they are checked

  • We are preparing a place for files sent to us from outside to wait while they are checked, before anything else reads them. A file removed from there is deleted rather than set aside, and our backups are set to leave that place out.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.372.4

October 16, 2026

Arabic text in the font it was meant to have, from our own servers

  • The scripture reader's Arabic now appears in the typeface chosen for it, and so does the Arabic line under some page titles. They had been asking for fonts that never arrived, so your browser used whatever it had.
  • Every font now comes from our own servers. Nothing on these pages asks another company for a font.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.372.3

October 16, 2026

Our automatic tests now run with fewer powers

  • The machines that test every change before it ships now give those tests less access. The tests run code written by others, and they never needed the wider access they had; the builds that do need it keep it, on their own machine.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.372.2

October 16, 2026

The same protection for the people who run the site, whatever the action

  • The site's owners, and its last super-admin, can no longer be suspended or deleted from the editing area. An earlier change today already stopped their role being changed there; suspending and deleting now follow the same rule.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.372.1

October 16, 2026

Our pages say a little less about how they are served

  • Every page from us and our sister sites now leaves out one more technical label that said what software passed it along. Nobody needed it, and it told a stranger a little about how we are set up.
  • Nothing to do at your end.

Version 2.372.0

October 16, 2026

A narrower kind of account, and roles that can change without starting over

  • An account can now be given one tool and nothing else. The first such role is for friends of the team who only need the team's private network: they sign in, see that one page, and every other part of the editing area is hidden from them and refused if they try to reach it.
  • A super-admin can now change someone's role in place, instead of deleting the account and making a new one, so nothing attached to it is lost. Nobody can change their own role, and the site will not let its last super-admin be demoted.
  • A change to someone's role or account now takes effect within seconds, everywhere, rather than when they next sign in.
  • Nothing to do at your end.
